A Bright Year Ahead for Reines RV

Reines RV is bringing Manassas and Ashland, Va 26 new RV Motorhomes for sale to sell at unbeatable prices and financing rates.

Reines RV Centers sell new and used campers and RVs including gas and diesel motorhomes, travel trailers, fifth wheels, toy haulers and camping vans, selling many of the nation’s leading brands.

“RV shipment totals are expected to hit 380,000 by the end of the year, an almost 7 percent increase from 2014, according to the Recreation Vehicle Industry Association. Shipment totals are expected to set an industry record in 2016, reaching more than 394,000 — totals that haven’t been seen since 2006 when about 390,000 units shipped” said Mac Bryan, RVIA vice president at the organization’s annual Committee Week in Washington, D.C.

Younger families are jumping on board the RV wagon, eager to take outdoor vacations with their kids. The fastest-growing segment of RV owners are people ages 35 to 54, while the average age of today’s RVer is 48 and getting younger.

“We’re selling a lifestyle,” said Lindsey Reines, president of Reines RV Center in Manassas. “People don’t have to have an RV.” But people sure do want them.

Reines RV Center’s state-of-the-art facilities have whatever you need for your dream RV. The Manassas location includes a spacious RV showroom, a sixteen-bay service department and a large parts and accessories store. Reines invested about $2 million to open its second location in Ashland in the Spring of 2015: “We think this is a great area.”  The Ashland RV dealership, about a mile from I-95, is minutes from Richmond, VA.  This one-stop RV shop includes over 150 RVs for sale, financing, service and a parts store in our newly remodeled building.

Dreams of rolling palaces, a breath of outdoor fun, a dash of theme park enjoyment. They’re yours for the imagining at Reines RV.

4 Places to Enjoy Fall Weather Camping

Fall is here and that means school is back, football is on, the weather is getting cooler and the leaves are starting to change! It’s important that we make the best of this time of year before it gets too cold and the winds of winter kick in. So, let’s take a look at some of the best places to watch the leaves change:

1. Raccoon Branch Campground

Right in our own backyard, Raccoon Branch is just a 4-5 hour drive from either Manassas or Ashland and hosts some of the best mountain views and the peaceful trickle of Dickey Creek. The campground also offers free WiFi so you can still catch some college football if need be!

2. Cosby Campground

Located in Tennessee right along the Smokey Mountains, Cosby Campground offers a lush and peaceful environment, filled with trees and plenty of wildlife. So take in the sights and sounds of this great campground before it’s too late!

3. Hapgood Pond Campground

Nestled in Vermont, Hapgood Pond is quite the drive from Virginia, but that’s what RVs are for! Plus you can’t discuss great fall camping locations without mentioning something from Vermont. This is a great location to try and get some late season fishing in, as well some canoeing. If sightseeing is what you’re after, the camp is only 13 miles from the famous Manchester, Vermont.

4. Loleta Recreation

In Northwestern Pennsylvania, located in the Allegheny National Forest sits a great family campground that has a swimming beach, volleyball courts and is surrounded by beautiful cherry and maple trees. With a lot of hiking trails and the Kinzua Dam, there is plenty to see and do at Loleta. But visit soon, because camping season ends on October 18th!

Winterizing your RV

Owning a Recreational Vehicle is clearly a great experience. However, sometimes we can get bogged down with the amount of maintenance one vehicle might require.

Recently NOAA announced that the El Nino conditions of this year will continue throughout the winter, meaning that erratic and devastating weather may be on the horizon. Making sure your RV is properly winterized will help you be confident that it’ll stand up against the harshest conditions.

Winterizing Your RV

Here’s a list of some of the things you’ll need to winterize your RV:

  • A standard toolkit
  • If your RV does not have a water heater bypass option, you’ll need to purchase a water heater bypass kit
  • A cleaning wand is the best tool for cleaning the holding tanks in your RV
  • 2-3 gallons of non-toxic antifreeze for you to line the plumbing of your RV
  • Water pump converter kit or tubing

Options for Winterizing

Now before you begin the RV Winterizing process, make sure you read the owner’s manual for your RV and follow all of the applicable steps for your unit. Remember that working with the water heater can be very dangerous. Do not drain the heater while it is under pressure or hot.

If you’ve never Winterized your RV before, it may be best to seek some help in order to prevent any damage to your RV that’ll lead to having to pay for repairs. For any of your questions, call Reines RV at (800) 785-4642 for a consultation. Our Service department also offers Winterization packages that you could use as well.

Reines RV is your one-stop center for expert answers to your questions, prompt service, and a fine inventory of new and used RVs. Contact staff and let them help you choose the ride of your life.

Things to Watch Out for When Buying a New/Used RV

Buying an RV can be a really exciting time, but if you’re not too careful, it can prove to be quite the headache. Like any major purchase, it’s important to do your research and determine which unit is right for your budget and your needs. However, before you drive off the lot, you should follow our checklist for what to look out for on your RV:

  1. Are there any scratches, dents or any other damage to the body?
  2. Are there any chips or issues with the paint?
  3. Do all of the doors and panels lock properly?
  4. Take a look at the top of the RV to make sure everything there is in good shape.
  5. Do the generators work?
  6. Do all of the external lights work?
  7. Check the tire tread.
  8. Are the hoses/cables attached and in working order?

  1. Has the RV been cleaned and vacuumed?
  2. Do all of the gauges show the correct levels?
  3. Do all of the interior lights work?
  4. Are there any stains, tears or patches on the upholstery?
  5. If you’re renting, what’s the gas level?
  6. Is the refrigerator in working condition?
  7. Do all of the doors and cabinets inside close/lock properly?
  8. Run the sink, can you fill it with water and does it drain properly?
  9. Does the microwave work?
  10. Does the air conditioning work, and does the shower function properly?

Checking for these issues before you leave in your rental or purchased RV can help save you a lot of trouble in the future in case something needs to be fixed. As always, make sure you come to Reines RV for your next RV purchase and we’ll make sure you get an RV in great shape at a great price! Virginia RV Vacation Ideas

We love Virginia! As much as we love to travel far and wide across our great nation by RV, taking short trips within our own beautiful state can be just as exciting – and you only need a weekend to do it! Virginia offers a huge range of amazing destinations, so we compiled a list of places to add to your “must see” list.

Relax on the shore
There’s just something relaxing about being on the water. Here are two water-focused destinations that are sure to deliver when you need some R&R!

Explore Assateague Island. With over 37 miles of gorgeous beachline, Assateague is sure to help melt away stress. Play in the waves, fish, sunbathe, or tour the island and count how many different forms of wildlife you can spot. Over 300 different birds can be found here, as well as deer, fox, and several other critters. Assateague is probably best-known for the wild ponies that have lived on the island since the 1600’s. Discover more about this magical place at http://www.assateagueisland.com/.

Take in the sites at Grandview Nature Preserve. Virginia Beach would be the obvious suggestion, but if you’d rather get away from the crowds, Grandview is a great option. It’s a popular spot for bird-watching with species like least turns, eastern towhee, black skimmer, and American oystercatchers making this area their home. Hiking programs and canoe rentals are handled at neighboring Buckroe Beach. This is a protected area, so make sure to check out the rules and regulations before you visit. Don’t forget your camera! More info at http://www.hampton.gov/Facilities/Facility/Details/Grandview-Nature-Preserve-and-Factory-Po-57.

Explore the Mountains
Unplug, stretch your legs, and breathe in the clean mountain air. There’s a slew of possible activities, so we’ve chosen three different activities in the Blue Ridge Mountains & Shenandoah Valley area.

Hiking in the Blue Ridge Mountains. There are hiking trails in the Blue Ridge Mountains that range from easy to strenuous including parts of the Appalachian Trail. Expect beautiful views of peaks, streams, foliage and wildlife. View trail suggestions at http://www.blueridgeparkway.org/v.php?pg=60 and stunning images here: http://www.blueridgeparkway.org/v.php?pg=825.

Riding the Sky in the Shenandoah Valley. If you’d rather stay in the RV, “ride the sky” by traveling along Skyline Drive, a 105-mile trek through the Blue Ridge Mountains and Shenandoah Valley. Read more here: http://www.visitskylinedrive.org/What-To-See/Top-10/Skyline-Drive.aspx

Discover the breathtaking Luray Caverns. Your kids probably learned about stalactites and stalagmites in science class. Blow them away by showing them the real deal at Luray Caverns. With several other attractions available, the family can spend the whole day discovering something new. Learn more at http://luraycaverns.com.

Have fun & be prepared. We love sending RVers off on their adventures and hope that you’ll always do so safely. Don’t leave home before checking to make sure you and your family will be safe. You’ll want to make sure your RV is ready for the trek. If you need a professional RV service technician to take a look, contact us to schedule an appointment.

Celebrate Summer and visit Williamsburg, Va!

Summer is here and that means it’s time for a family vacation. One of our favorite RV parks is the American Heritage RV Park in Williamsburg. American Heritage boasts a bevy of activities and features such as paved roads, free wifi and cable, a swimming pool, a water slide, mini golf and a whole lot more!

Williamsburg is seen as the birthplace of America and is home to the colony of Jamestown as well as the historic Colonial Williamsburg where you can get a taste of what life was like way back then! You can visit blacksmiths and watch fife and drum parades as well as take a carriage ride around town.

Virginia is a great state to visit full of beautiful scenery and a lot of history, but before you get started on your trip, be sure to stop by either Reines RV Center locations to make sure your RV is in shape before hitting the open road.
Here at Reines RV you can visit our camping store to pick up any supplies you may need such as lawn chairs, awning mats, kitchen supplies, games and much more!
