Light weight, but loaded with luxury, the Grand Design Reflection 318 is a fifth wheel that delivers on quality and comfort.

The Reflection 318RST is one of the 2016 entries from newcomers Grand Design. Founded by three veterans of the RV industry, Grand Design keeps its company intensely focused on its product line of towable travel trailers and fifth wheels – Imagine Travel Trailers, Reflection Fifth Wheels.

Reflection Travel Trailers, Solitude Fifth Wheels and Momentum Fifth Wheel Toy Haulers. The Grand Design Reflection, weighing only 10,406 pounds, is designed to be pulled by a three-quarter ton truck.

granddesign2The quality of the Grand Design Reflection 318 begins before the fifth wheel reaches the showroom.  Each RV is crafted with laminated aluminum frame construction under laminated aluminum sidewalls.  Unlike many other manufacturers, the rear wall, as well as the sidewalls and roof of every slide room, are also fully laminated. The residential style wood truss frame provides the foundation for a full walk-on roof while eliminating the metal-on-metal connection of traditional aluminum trusses. The maintenance-free seamless, one-piece roof covering is backed by a 12-year warranty.

Under the roof, racetrack ducting that extends past both A/C units ensures efficient, uninterrupted airflow from the front of the fifth wheel to the back of the Reflection 318. Quality continues where the rubber meets the road, with a fully-enclosed, insulated underbelly above heavy duty tires filled with Nitrofill for maximum lifespan.  The tires are backed by a 5-year warranty.

Throughout construction process, the Reflection 318 goes through a comprehensive system and quality check followed by a 150 point pre-delivery inspection. After clearing the quality hurdles, each unit leaves the factory with a 3-year limited structural warranty.

granddesign5With so much attention to construction and detail, the Grand Design Reflection 318 is “extended-stay approved,” engineered with residential-style qualities such as walk in closets, extra-large windows, full-sized pantries and large refrigerators, for full-time living. The expansive design and home-like finishes of the Grand Design Reflection 318 make it an ideal choice for retirees who want to take advantage of extended-stay programs at beautiful resorts across the country.

The quality experience begins the minute you set up at the first destination, with the one button leveling system, that takes the hassle and guesswork out of set-up. Unpack your gear from the unobstructed pass through and hook-up at the all-in-one docking station. Now, enter the Reflection model 318RST up the easy-open, all-aluminum, LED-illuminated steps.

At 31 feet the compact fifth wheel travels small, but lives big with expansive rooms made larger by three strategically placed sliders and smart design. Enter into the open plan living area, to find a gourmet kitchen anchoring the living and entertainment area. Set into the island is truly a touch of home: a deep stainless steel farmhouse sink that is both elegant to see and big enough for cleaning the day’s catch. The solid surface LG counter tops create plenty of prep space while hand-rubbed maple cabinet fronts and drawers with gunstock hardware help create a rich, welcoming ambiance – and provide a wealth of storage space. Adding to the storage space is a home-sized, floor-to-ceiling pantry. A residential-style-microwave, range and 12-cubic foot refrigerator combine for a kitchen perfect for cooking up a cozy breakfast for two or turning out a feast for a crowd.granddesign3

Whether it’s a crowd or couple, the Reflection 318RST, is configured for comfort. The living room, with opposing slides, opens into wide-open space with seating for entertainment, relaxing, dining and even sleeping. At the heart of the living area is the entertainment center, which starts with an electric fireplace topped off by a 40-inch TV. Sharing a slide with hand-rubbed, hand-crafted entertainment center, is a dinette, with an option for a free-standing dining room table. Across the expanse of premium Beauflor flooring is wall-hugger theater seating. Along the back wall find more seating with a leather tri-fold sofa bed, sized to sleep two.

Design innovation keeps the Grand Design Reflection 318 safe, elegant and easy to maintain. Understanding that many RV fires are caused by debris that has fallen into floor ducts, Grand Design has gone the extra mile to move ducts off the floor throughout the unit. Stairs to the master suite are topped by louvered treads. The Reflection 318 is illuminated by cool and efficient LED lighting, including sensor lights in key areas such as stairs and the pantry.granddesign4

Up the stairs to the master suite is a side aisle bathroom with a large one-piece fiber glass shower illuminated by a skylight and vented by a fan.  A full-sized vanity, medicine cabinet, and linen closet add to the convenience and homelike comfort of the generously sized bath.granddesign6

The front master bedroom is a haven fit for royalty with a king size wardrobe and black label pillow top queen mattress atop oversized underbed storage. Prepped for TV and cable and ready for an optional washer and dryer, customize the Reflection 318RST to be ready for long stays or short treks. The Reflection’s third slide makes the room spacious enough for lounging while the front cap walk-in closet makes getting ready for a busy day a snap.

The many features, quality, and design of the Reflection 318 show why Grand Design has taken the RV industry by storm.
